This year, I knew I wanted to go as....A DUCK! because what else would I honestly want to go as?!?!
Step 1: Make a Yellow Tutu:
- tulle (I bought about 4 yards)
-Enough elastic to go around your waist
Next, I cut the tulle into about an inch thick stripes. (The length does not have to be exact.)
Then, I looped each strip around the elastic and pulled it tight. (When making a Tutu, think about how long you want it to be. I originally had the skirt longer but since I would be running in it, I wanted it shorter so it wouldn't hit my legs)
I already had a plain yellow shirt, but any cotton shirt will work. (You can always buy a shirt at Micheals)
Here is my test print where I discovered that I had printed it wrong.
I knew I wanted to cover my shoes in orange so they would look more like feet and less like...running shoes..
I took some paper and cut out a guide. (I would actually cut it a little smaller since I kept kicking it while running.)
And Tada! I am now a duck in yellow!!!! (My friend Sara just "happened" to also be wearing yellow and have the same shoes as me... Likely story...)
(Us at mile 1)
My time was slower than my previous year. I wonder if it was due to all the selfies....
