Today's look is a shirt that I previously took apart and never finished. It had a collar which I seamed ripped off.
It was also rather large and see through :O
I wanted to make pleats on the front to give it an added element of interest. This will also take some of the fabric since the shirt was too large. I placed the shirt on my ironing board and started ironing pleats.
More pleats! This took quiet a few passes with the iron to get the pleats to hold.
I then pinned them down so I could sew them down!
I used a silver metallic thread so I sewed straight on the front of the pleats.
You can see my shiny threads !
The collar was too high so I cut it lower and added more of a rounded neck line.
Then I cut the sleeves off! I ended up cutting the "sleeve" part thinner as well since the strap was still too wide for me.
Then I hemmed it up the sides. **hint** you want to hem more at the top of the shirt and less at the bottom so it is loose and flow-y.
Tada! new shiny tank top!
