(This blog post is a little bit late, I've been rather busy but I still wanted to share my adventures!)
My sister invited me to a Children of the American Revolution party. I always love to dress up so I headed for this navy blue velvet dress. (The event was actually really casual but it's always better to be over dressed than under!)
I'm sure I could have gotten away with wearing this dress as is and belting it, but it is just awkwardly too big.
WELL, I have to tell you, after 370+ remakes, I still have my frustrating days. This should have been a super simple remake where I take the sides in on the top and sleeves and then pleat it back together...
My sewing machine wouldn't sew the fabric, it kept skipping around, my frustration was THROUGH THE ROOF. I ended up sewing each section 4 TIMES, trying it on and then surging the edges. My sewing room was probably full of angry Katie smoke.
After finding a belt to go with it, this happened.
I get alot of questions about how I curl my hair.
Here's the secret.
I have curly hair and it has so much volume and it does crazy things all the time. This is what it looks like after I have blow dried my hair...
But it was really fun and it's a really great organization and if you ever have the option to go to an event, I would highly recommend it!
After the event, my sister and I headed over to my aunts house for COOKIE DECORATING!
The sleeves were great rolled up and then down.
