I have been running around like a crazy person because I somehow always seem to be super busy. I decided to make this dress in just under 5 minutes with the help of Brittany and Ryan's dog Scamp.
I liked the pattern and color of the this dress since it was maroon and pretty funny. There is just one outdated issue... this vest...thing.
Of course this dress had some rocking shoulder pads so I just snipped them out.
The vest is attached at the top of the sleeves.
For this five minute fix, I just cut it off!
I pinned in and then cut some of the length off using the wooden floor boards as a guide.
I turned the dress inside out and cut along the seems to pop the sleeves off.
This remake was a no sew/ 5 min refashion. The top was still a bit too big so I pulled out some safety pins and pinned it in closer to my arms. I pinned them in a way that didn't rub and was comfortable to wear. I didn't finish the sleeves because I always wear a cardigan. No one will ever know unless you tell them :) Brittany decided that we had to go to Hobby Lobby since I have never been there.
They have duck posters and flowers and honestly, this is the BIGGEST craft store I've ever been in! I really liked that it has a lot of extra products that Michaels/Joanns doesn't have.
After Hobby Lobby, we went to pick up Ryan to go to lunch. Ryan and I met in architecture school so we naturally went to a building his firm had made. I *LOVE* architecture so I was having a total geek moment and Brittany was just laughing at us.
I made Ryan pose with the sign from his architecture firm :)
The belt on this dress is a thin piece of cotton cut from the scraps of yesterdays remake!
