My aunt booked a trolley tour of downtown Richmond, Va and offered to take us with her. Can you say super fun silliness?!? I love art, architecture and history so I was very, very excited. I started today with this long orange skirt. It actually was a two piece set with a matching button down top. I decided to donate the top back to the thrift store.
This material is so amazingly soft but EXTREMELY stretchy. I cut it shorter than normal so I could add a ruffle back.
Using the extra, I pinned on a big ruffle.
Then I sewed it on. This material took some serious patience because it was so stretchy. It kept moving everywhere!
When we arrived at the trolley location, it was also a Segway store. I had to take some photos with Segways.
....and on the trolley :)
My little buddy joined us on our adventure. The tour was very informative but also 2.5 hours long! Little buddy did great!
If you have ever been to the "Upper South", you know that Richmond has a ton of statues. This one is of a guy named Bojangles! I thought it was just a restaurant. Turns out I was wrong.
Richmond is also called the River City since the James River runs through it. I will say, if you work in the high rises, the river isn't too bad to look at!
The tour was very fun. I would recommend it, but I would also recommend bringing snacks :P
After the tour, we headed over to a great restaurant where my niece grabbed my menu out of my hand and started reading it. I think she was hinting that she was hungry...
