What does bump in the night?! All kinds of creepy and scary things that are way worse than any kind of zombies!!!!
I love this yellow dress, so any chance to rewear it is always a great day!
At some point, I decided I really wanted to be a pineapple. This costume was way funnier to wear than I could have ever imagined. I first took heavy weight green cardstock and rolled it hot dog style.
I then started cutting out long green leaves. *Note: I ended up cutting these a couple of times because I wanted them to be super thin the way a pineapple would be*
I started at the top of the tube and started taping the leaves all the way down. Tape was easier than gluing.
On the last row, I did one big leaf.
I cut out the DOLE logo to give my tag more dimension than if I had just printed it out.
Today's MC was the one and only MJ! Sparkly glove included!
The first speaker talked all of the fantastic mosquitoes that roam the earth. Downside- There is no way to kill them all!!!! In the middle of his speech, the speaker looked straight at me and started laughing. Apparently my hat looked like someone was holding up their hand the entire time.
Up next, a haunting in the south! Kala Ambrone is a paranormal and was telling us all about the hauntings...Apparently the battleship stationed in Wilmington, NC is the most haunted. I might have to check that out! She also thought my hat looked like a hand with a question in the air.
There was a custom contest.
OH YEA, GUESS WHO WON SECOND PLACE?!?!?! To be fair, first place was really good!
...and there was free dinner! Dames Chicken and Waffles of Durham, NC which is AMAZING!
Happy costume making!
