My friend, Beth, saw my Shark Week Hat and really wanted some for her and her husband. They are HUGE shark week fans. We decided to meet the ladies (hi Sally!) out for lunch. I grabbed this floral dress because I knew I wanted to do something fun with the collar. What I didn't know... IT WAS A ROMPER!
I've said it before, I am seriously not a huge fan of rompers. Luckily, this one was meant to be a skirt.
I will change you back my friend!!! I started by cutting out the shorts part of the skirt.
And then cutting off the excess material from where the shorts were.
I then sewed the new edges of the skirt together. No more shorts for this dress!
I did this part yesterday and my craft cat wanted in on the action.
I then cut the top of the dress off so it would have a V-neck.
Sleeves always make dresses blousy so I had to make it tighter so it wouldn't be too loose at the top.
I turned over the raw edges on the top. What to do with you collar???
I cut the collar into 4 pieces so I could make a strap out of it.
And then sewed it onto the top of the dress.
Next, I gathered up my freshly made shark hats and headed out!
I told Beth she had to pose for this picture. *Everyone at the restaurant thought these were way too funny!*
And then of course, there is always time to try on silly sunglasses.
My friend is out of town so I am cat sitting for her. I can't miss an opportunity to take cat selfies! *The cat really wanted the food...*
And here's the final product!
